Objects with Love «Context»
Unexpected selection of objects made by international and contemporary designers …
—
What is your favourite object? And when would you consider it an object to love? Swiss journalist and stylist Connie Hüsser has always been fascinated by young talent and striking designs. A banana in glass. A chair in rainbow colours. Or a chandelier in silver foil. She adores it!
Connie Hüsser loves the handmade, the colourful and the unexpected. She carefully brings these objects together in a presentation made with unrestrained fantasy. Vases, bookstands and cups are featured on the same platform as sponges, bowls and masks. This unexpected selection of objects made by international and contemporary designers brings together the digital and physical, combining new materiality with modern technology.
Assignments for the furniture brand Vitra and various Design Magazines bring her in touch with designers from around the world on a daily basis. With the platform «Objects with Love» she has turned her passion into an exhibition. For the Biennale Interieur 2018 (BE) she selected, adopted, collected, arranged and curated the objects a first time. This was followed by a successful sequel for Design Miami/ Basel 2019. Last year she won the Swiss Grand Prix Design Award for her general contribution to the history of design.
Now, Connie Hüsser presents a continuation of her «Objects with Love» at ECAL, with selections by Alissa Volchkova, Atelier Polyhedre, Bertjan Pot, BNAG, Chen Chen & Kai Williams, David Taylor, David Timmis, De Intuïtiefabriek, Dimitri Bähler, Earnest Studio, Eric Roinestad, Falke Svatun, Fredrik Paulsen, Harvey Bouterse, Helle Mardahl, Hilda Hellström, Jakob Robertsson, James Shaw, Jenna Kaës, Julian Komosa, Jochen Holz, Jonas Lutz, Kim Thomé, Nick Ross, Oyyo, Philippe Malouin, POOL, Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Sabine Marcelis, Sigve Knutson, Simon Klenell, Soft Baroque, Studio Furthermore, Tobias Brunner, Tomas Kral, Wang & Söderström, Ward Wijnant, Yasmin Bawa and more.
